2- ARRIVING AT DESTINATION

Don’t get disturbed by the changes and be ready to face any kind of situations…

SEN_Travel Apps_XEWhen arriving in a new country, one of the first things we need to do is to withdraw money to avoid bad surprises with credit cards problems… you’ll find many costly currency conversion apps but trust us, this easy to use, and – best of all, since it uses live currency rates – completely accurate and FREE app it what you need. The Amount app is a unit and currency converter and not only helps you navigate monetary exchanges, but also categories like speed limits, fuel consumption, cooking measurements and even clothing sizes in case you want to buy a new outfit overseas. The interface is simple to understand and contains over 700 different units in over 30 categories.

SEN_ENTRAIN_Travel AppsStaying awake, taking melatonin, controlling your light exposure…There are plenty of theories floating about concerning the best methods for beating jetlag. Who can we trust? SEN_ONAVO_Travel AppsAnyone who’s ever accidentally downloaded a large email while on holiday will attest to the ridiculousness of data roaming charges? Once installed, this app drastically reduces the amount of data required to perform everyday tasks, such as retrieving email and posting to Facebook. We’re not entirely sure how it manages such a feat – we just know that it works and we’re not about to complain.

SEN_Travel Apps_Like a localBored and annoyed by touristic places ? Avoid the tourist traps and let Like a Local tell you where the real hotspots in town are located. As you can probably guess, the app lets real locals post reviews and insights about their favorite places in town for you to see. They’re picky about the locals they use, so you won’t be getting reviews from someone who’s only lived there a week.

SEN_SONGSA_Travel AppsYou lack inspiration and you feel limited in terms of music? Songza allows you to search for music based on genre, artist, mood, activity, or decade. The playlists are insanely specific — think “driving in the left lane” and “shopping at a vintage store” — so whether you’re on the road to reunite with an old flame, start a new life chapter, or kick off the vacation of a lifetime, your soundtrack will be right here.

SEN_Travel Apps_GlimpseGlympse is essentially the map equivalent of a status update, so it’s the perfect way to reassure your parents or your boyfriend that you’re alive, well, and en route to your final destination. SEN_Travel Apps_RoomerWe all know we can save a good deal of money by booking hotels in advance. The problem, especially on road trips, is that we don’t always get to the destination in time for the reservation, and if you’ve paid ahead, you’re out of luck. Not so if you use Roomer. This app and website (roomertravel.com) helps travelers sell their prepaid reservations to people who can use them to recoup some of that otherwise lost cost. SEN_GOOLGLE TRANSLATE_Travel AppsAs far as general translation apps go, Google Translate is unbeatable. Complete and easy to use it becomes particularly intriguing with his Word Lens tool, whereby you point your camera at a foreign word, which is then translated in real time on your screen.
